About
Women’s Grievance Cell at St. John’s College has been established from the academic year 2014 with a vision to help women in distress and a mission to make a better society by showing kindness to women. The cell looks into the grievances regarding gender discrimination, sexual assaults, assaults, ragging, caste discrimination etc. that are faced by the female students inside and outside the campus. This cell encourages girls to express their grievance without any fear of being victimized. If the student feels unwilling to appear in person to address the issue or suggestion, then they are free to write letters and drop in the suggestion box of the Women’s Grievance Cell. Students are also allowed to address the grievances through e- mail. The cell reviews all cases and act accordingly with the consultation of the principal. Every Friday at 02.00 PM consultation hour is arranged for the students to talk about their grievances. Personal issues, grievances related to education and finance is also addressed to the coordinator and the cell. Personal care is given to every girl who places their complaint/ suggestion. Workshops and seminars are conducted every semester for the students to give them a fine knowledge and awareness about the world around them and the issues they will be facing. Keynote speakers are invited to share their varied vide knowledge. Through this students are exposed to the reality of society and the cell stimulates and inspires girls to face the world with their heads held high.
